Terms of Service
The rules for using this directory.
Last updated: September 14, 2026
1. What this service is
California Contractors (“the Site”) is an online directory that lists contractors operating in California. We are not a contractor, broker, agent or employer of any listed business. We do not perform, supervise, guarantee or insure any work.
2. Using the directory
Searching and viewing listings is free. You agree not to scrape, copy or republish the directory in bulk, use it to send unsolicited commercial messages, or attempt to interfere with the Site’s operation.
3. Contractor listings
Contractors are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listing, including license number, classification, insurance and service area. By listing, you confirm you hold a current California State License Board license for the trades you list where one is required by law, and that you will keep your listing accurate. We may edit, suspend or remove any listing at our discretion, including for an expired, inactive or suspended license.
4. Paid plans
Paid plans are billed in advance on the interval you select and renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future billing and your listing reverts to the free tier at the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change plan pricing with at least 30 days notice before it applies to your renewal.
5. Reviews
Reviews must come from genuine customers and describe a real experience. We remove reviews that are fraudulent, defamatory, contain personal information or are posted by a business about a competitor. We do not remove a negative review because the business asks or offers to pay.
6. No warranty and no endorsement
Listings are provided “as is”. Inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement, recommendation or certification of any contractor. We make no warranty as to the quality, licensing, insurance, workmanship or conduct of any listed business. You are responsible for verifying license status with the CSLB and for your own due diligence before hiring.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, cost or dispute arising from work performed by, or dealings with, any contractor found through this Site. Any contract is between you and the contractor. Our total liability in connection with the Site will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Intellectual property
Site design, text and compilation are ours. Contractors retain rights in the logos and photographs they upload and grant us a license to display them in connection with their listing.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a revised date. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California.
