Information we collect

Information you give us. If you create a contractor listing we collect your name, business name, email address, phone number, business address, license number, trades, service areas and any images or text you upload. If you contact a contractor or us through a form we collect the details you enter in it. If you leave a review we collect your name and review content.

Information collected automatically. Our servers log IP address, browser type, pages viewed and referring page. We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences, and we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are used.

How we use it

To publish and operate listings, to pass your inquiry to the contractor you chose to contact, to process payments for paid plans, to prevent fraud and abuse, to respond to support requests, and to improve the Site.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share homeowner inquiries with any business other than the contractor you contacted. We do not resell contact details to lead-generation companies.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers who help us run the Site — web hosting, payment processing and email delivery — and only to the extent they need it, and where the law requires disclosure.

Public information

Contractor listings, including business name, contact details and license number, are published publicly by design. Reviews are published with the reviewer name given. Do not put anything in a listing or review you do not want visible.

Retention

Listing data is kept while the listing is live and for a reasonable period after it is removed, for record-keeping and dispute resolution. Contact form messages are kept while they may be needed to answer you.

Your California privacy rights

California residents may request access to the personal information we hold about them, request correction or deletion, and request details of any disclosure. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

Cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Site, such as staying signed in to manage a listing, will not work without them.

Children

The Site is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We will post any changes on this page with a revised date.
